Physical Therapy in East New York, Brooklyn

Our Brooklyn clinic is at 1084 Liberty Ave. in East New York, about a block from Conduit Boulevard and close to the City Line border with Ozone Park, Queens. The Euclid Avenue station on the A and C trains is roughly a quarter mile away, which makes the clinic a practical choice for patients from Cypress Hills, City Line and Ozone Park as well as East New York.

This is a physical therapy clinic. Our therapists help patients recover from back and neck pain, joint pain and arthritis, sports and work injuries, and surgery, with a plan built around the daily tasks that matter to you, from climbing stairs at home to getting through a full shift at work.

You also have access to Holsman's HolStep® and No Fall Protocol® balance programs, shockwave therapy for stubborn tendon pain, KinesIQ balance and coordination training, and functional capacity evaluations for workers' compensation and return-to-work decisions. The clinic is open weekdays from 9 AM to 4 PM and accepts Medicare, workers' comp, no-fault and most New York managed Medicaid plans. Holsman has been in practice since 2004.

Questions About Our Brooklyn Clinic

What insurance does the Brooklyn clinic accept?

Yes. Our Brooklyn clinic accepts Medicare Part B, private PPO plans, workers' compensation (including federal FECA claims), auto accident/no-fault claims, VA Community Care, and most New York managed Medicaid plans, including Fidelis Care, Affinity, Amida Care, VNS Choice and Molina. Call 347-586-0625 and we will verify your benefits for free.

Can I see a physical therapist in Brooklyn without a referral?

New York allows direct access for a limited time: a licensed physical therapist with at least three years of experience can treat you for up to 10 visits or 30 days, whichever comes first, without a referral. Some insurance plans still require a referral or prescription to cover therapy, so we check your plan before your first visit. Medicare patients also need their physician to certify the plan of care, and we coordinate that.

What happens at my first appointment?

Your therapist will go over your symptoms, history and goals, then check your strength, motion, balance and the movements that hurt. You will leave knowing what is going on and what your plan is, and most patients get their first treatment the same day. Bring ID, your insurance card and any referral or prescription.

What are the Brooklyn clinic's hours?

Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM. The clinic is closed on weekends, so call 347-586-0625 early in the week for the best choice of times.

How do I get to 1084 Liberty Ave. by subway?

The Euclid Avenue station (A and C trains) is about a quarter mile from the clinic. If you are driving, call us and we will tell you where to find parking near Liberty Avenue.
