Questions About Our Paterson Clinic
What insurance does the Paterson clinic accept?
Yes. Our Paterson clinic accepts Medicare Part B, most private and PPO plans (including Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna and Humana), workers' compensation including federal FECA claims, auto accident (no-fault/PIP) claims, and VA Community Care. Call 973-705-7255 and we will verify your benefits for free before your first visit.
Do I need a referral for physical therapy in Paterson?
Usually not. Under New Jersey's direct access law you can book physical therapy on your own. The exception is insurance: some plans require a referral or prescription for coverage, and we confirm that for you before you come in. Medicare patients can start without a referral; your physician certifies the plan of care, and we handle that paperwork with your doctor.
I was just discharged from the hospital. Can I start therapy right away?
Yes, in most cases. Call 973-705-7255 and tell us about your hospital stay or surgery. Bring your discharge paperwork, any therapy prescription, your ID and insurance card to your first visit, and your therapist will build a plan around your restrictions.
What happens at my first visit?
Your therapist reviews your history, tests strength, motion and balance, and explains the plan. Most patients begin treatment that day. Wear comfortable clothes.
What are the Paterson clinic's hours?
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM. We are closed weekends.

We are in Suite 401 at 764 Main St., just down the street from St. Joseph's University Medical Center. Call 973-705-7255 and we will give you parking and entrance directions.
