Do I need a referral for physical therapy in Indiana?
No — Indiana's Direct Access law allows you to be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist for up to 42 calendar days without a physician referral. If your care needs to continue beyond 42 days, we'll help coordinate a referral from your provider. Some procedures, such as spinal manipulation, always require a physician order.
Do I need a referral for occupational therapy?
Yes. Indiana law requires a referral from a licensed physician or qualifying provider before starting occupational therapy. If you don't have one yet, let us know — we can help coordinate with your doctor's office.
Does Medicare cover in-home physical and occupational therapy?
Yes. Medicare Part B covers in-home physical therapy and occupational therapy delivered by a licensed outpatient therapy practice. Unlike the Medicare home health benefit, Part B coverage for in-home PT/OT does not require you to be homebound.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit, right in your home, includes a comprehensive evaluation of your condition and goals. Your therapist will design a personalized treatment plan, and most patients begin hands-on treatment at the first appointment.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Jeffersonville, Clarksville, New Albany, Sellersburg, Charlestown, and the surrounding Clark and Floyd County communities — entirely through in-home visits. We do not operate a clinic location in Indiana.
Do you have a physical therapy clinic in Indiana?
No — Holsman Mobile PT and OT in Indiana is a house-calls-only service. We don't have a brick-and-mortar clinic in Jeffersonville, Clarksville, or anywhere in Clark or Floyd County. Every visit takes place in your home, the same model as our established Home Therapy PT practice in Rockland County, NY.
